First Taste - Blackjack (Nintendo Entertainment System)

Heylo, everyone! You know how when you're eating peanuts, or grapes, and you get a really good one to start out and it makes you excited for the whole batch, and then you realize you ate like, the only good one of what you had? And the rest are average at best, and horrid at worst? That's Blackjack for the NES.

When the game loaded up, I was greated by some great chiptune honky-tonk! Like, I was really excited to play the game just based on that, since I expected it would be pretty generic and bad what with it just being called "Blackjack."

Turns out my expectations were right, though. -.- Once you get past the title screen music, there's no music at all... Just sound effects that sound like they were pulled from an Atari...

Now, granted, it's not really a bad game since for a game that is only Blackjack? It's good for what it is. Simple to use, and the game plays pretty fast. But unless you've just got a bad blackjack habit, I have to wonder...why?

I won't say this was a bitter experience, because like I said, the game itself isn't bad, but it's definitely a huge disappointment. Just...so sour...
