First Taste - King's Quest V (Nintendo Entertainment System)

Why...why would they do this? Oh, sorry, manners.. Um, heylo everyone. Now then.. WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS? King's Quest V is, from what I've been told, a pretty good PC adventure game... The NES version, however, does not really look as such! It just really was not made for this console. The music is rather cacophonous to my ears, the graphics are just mushy and ugly and...and it's a point and click game! I know there are some like Deja Vu that are supposed to be really good, but in general the NES was not made for point and click games.

I realize I'm probably being kind of unfair to the game, as I didn't even really play past the intro, but that's because I knew what it would be like already! And when the graphics and sound are clearly muddled down versions of what is already known to be better elsewhere... I just can't bring myself to really want to even try that hard...

But that is part of what makes this a first taste, you know? I mean, if what touches your tongue is so repugnant that you don't even want to try to force down any more of the meal, then why would you? That's how I feel going into this game...
